Healthcare

Nationally as well as locally, healthcare has been a sector showing consistent growth over the past decade. Yavapai Regional Medical Center is a not-for-profit hospital system that consists of YRMC West Campus, which is located one mile northwest of downtown Prescott, and the YRMC East Campus and the YRMC Del E. Webb Outpatient Center in Prescott Valley. The Heart Center at Yavapai Regional Medical Center is a new state-of-the-art cardiac surgery program on the Prescott campus. Using the latest technology and expertise in cardiothoracic (heart and chest) surgery, the Heart Center’s services cover diagnosis, treatment, surgery, rehabilitation and education. The hospital provides advanced emergency, surgical imaging, laboratory, and physical rehabilitation services as well. On the YRMC East campus, the Family Birthing Center personnel guide and support mothers and family members through all stages of motherhood: pregnancy, delivery and parenthood.  The Birthing Center is licensed as a Level II Continuing Care Nursery by the State Department of Health Services.  In addition, the BreastCare Center is where a multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive and coordinated breast care in a supportive environment.

The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System in Prescott offers a broad spectrum of care to veterans. A few examples of some of the services and programs offered through the facility include acute inpatient medical care, the American Indian Program, the dementia special care unit, the extended care and rehabilitation center (nursing home), mental health clinics, a substance abuse treatment program, and the Women Veteran’s Program.

Mountain Valley Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Prescott Valley is the only freestanding acute rehabilitation hospital serving all of Central and Northern Arizona. It is designed exclusively for specialized rehabilitative care.

Additionally, many private clinics and physicians’ groups are available to meet a diversity of needs. Dentists, chiropractors, optometrists and therapists are just a few of the many health providers easily accessible to area residents.
