Governor Ducey to be GPREP Keynote Speaker

Celebrating New Beginnings,' is the theme of the Greater Prescott Regional Economic Partnership (GPREP) 2015 Annual Dinner.

What better way to celebrate, than to have the newly inaugurated Governor Doug Ducey as the keynote speaker?

Governor Ducey was sworn into office on Monday, January 5, 2015, along with the other newly elected officials. Ducey ran on a solid, pro-business platform.  His first action after his swearing-in ceremonies reflects that, fulfilling a key campaign promise by issuing an executive order implementing a moratorium on all new regulatory rulemaking by state agencies.

"Governor Ducey’s order will promote and propel job growth by preventing burdensome, antiquated and unnecessary government rules and regulations on private sector employers," explains the press release announcing this executive action.

GPREP is a public private partnership dedicated to growing the regional economy by recruiting new industry and business to the area. All the local municipalities, and Yavapai County, as well as YRMC, Embry-Riddle, Yavapai College, Prescott College, APS and other economic partners have joined together in this commitment to promote a healthy economy in the region.

"We look forward to hearing the Governor's positive jobs message," said Steve Rutherford, President of the GPREP Executive Board.

The event will take place Friday, January 23 at the Prescott Centennial Center, from 5:30-8:30 PM.
